Teddy Bear Granny Square Baby Blanket

19/02/2014 by Dada Filed Under: Crochet baby blanket patterns 59 Comments

Teddy bear crochet baby blanket
I’ve finally finished my Teddy Bear Baby Blanket! I’m quite happy how it turn out, especially because I have never made any blanket before. This one is the first!
Dadas place teddy bear crochet baby blanket
And it certainly won’t be the last. I love making blankets! I’ve already started one for my son a couple of months ago, and I’ve made 129 granny square already, 111 to go…

Hope to finish it until the 26th of April (his 13th birthday).
Cute teddy bear granny square crochet baby blanket
As I promised you before, I’ve just started to make the tutorial (my first ever) for Teddy Bear Granny Square. I also plan to add a crochet chart, so it will take me some time to do all of that, but I know that people who like crochet are patient… so it probably won’t be a problem 🙂

Update: The Teddy Bear Baby Balnket pattern is now available in Dada’s place shop (payment options: Credit cards & PayPal).
*
You can also buy it in my Ravelry shop and in my Etsy shop. (payment option: PayPal)

So beautiful! I love how you combined teddy bear squares with plain ones. Colours are very sweet.
I'd love you to share the teddy bear square in chart, please (so much easier than written instructions for me). Take your time and enjoy making your son's blanket!

    Thanks Ivonne!
It's "Tango" from St. George, I really don't know if they sell internationally. But I'm sure any cotton yarn will do the job. There so many on the internet.

I joined the squares with single crochet, then I made 4 rows of single crochet and added a border.

Love the teddy bear squares. Very good tutorial also. If I made this for a baby blanket do you think the parents would be concerned about the beads coming off? I always worry about that. Thank you for the pattern.

This is one of the most adorable baby blankets I've ever seen! It looks warm, too! Some crocheted baby blankets are beautiful, but not warm. Do you have any idea when the tutorial will be finished? My adopted daughter and I searched for her birth parents, two years ago. She had been born with a very serious birth defect that is often fatal. Her birth father hadn't even expected her to be alive. He was afraid to have any more children, thinking that the same thing might happen again. Getting to know his happy, healthy, daughter changed his mind and now he and his wife are expecting a baby in August! When my daughter told me about it, the next thing she said was, "Mom, can you make a blanket for him?" It needs to be a really special blanket and this one certainly fits the bill!

This is stunning. Do you know how much if each colour you used (either per square or for the whole blanket)? An estimate would be good.

    Dear Dada's Place…
Please be so kind as to send me more info on the size and normal squares in between the Teddy Bear Squares, which stiches did you use to join the squares and what stiches did you use for the pattern around the blanket?
I have just decided to start this as my BEGINNER project while i am waiting to fall pregnant. And my mom just learned me the Teddy Bear Square over the Weekend…

Very excited to hear from you!!!
