Tote bag with crochet flowers

I made another tote bag. This time with crochet flowers and green lining. And I’m quite happy how flowery and blooming it turned out.

Making tote bag is very easy, even with a lining. If you have never made one before and you would like to, just google “How to make tote bag” and it will appear numerous photo tutorials and even videos on how to do it. I’m not very skilled in sewing, but I managed to make it without troubles.

If you decide to make a tote bag like this one, you have to sew on the flowers before you assemble the bag. Which means, you first decide which flowers you would like to add to the bag, then make them, cut the fabric, sew on the flowers to the fabric, embroider the leafs, and then sew the bag together. Piece of cake.

The pattern for these flowers I found in this gorgeous Japanese crochet book. Needless to say, I adore Japanese crochet books.

I embroider the stems and the leafs with the chain stitch.

And this is my finished Victorian flower baby blanket, with a lacy edge which I really like. Now I just have to sit down and write the tutorial. But, given that I’ve already started my next project, and I’m very eager to finish it as soon as possible, it probably won’t be very soon…

Victorian flower granny square

Yes, these are the same squares as those I used to make my tote bag from the previous post. Adding colors made such a huge difference. It really seems like another square.

I named it Victorian flower square, because it reminds me of romantic, English gardens from the last century…

I like when I have both color and texture in the same project, so, this is pretty enjoyable project so far.

The yarn I use in this project is 100% cotton yarn, my trusty “Tango” and “Golf” from St. George (manufacturer from Serbia).

Many of you asked me where you can buy this yarn, but unfortunately, St. George don’t sell on line and you can buy their yarn only in Serbia (where I live) and in several neighboring countries. Which is sad, because they have really beautiful yarn.

I decided to make a pattern for this square, so, as soon as I finish this project (which will remain a little secret) I will start to make the tutorial.

That part is not so much fun as the crochet part, but, every time I work on another tutorial, I find it easier to do, and more enjoyable then the last time…

These flowers are part of my next project, another tote bag, this time, something totally different, colorful and blooming…

Victorian Flower Tote Bag

This will be a quick, short post. I just wanted to show you my latest crochet project.

I’m not sure if I ever crocheted something plain colored. I think I haven’t.

Usually I can’t resist colors. But, when I made this flowery square, I had a picture of a large, simple tote bag, in send color in my head.

I like the rich texture of this square, and I think that it compensates the lack of color.

The bag is pretty big, which I really like.

I’m going to make a pattern for this square, actually, it will be a pattern for something colorful, lavish, flowery and definitely blooming…
